What Is The Difference Between Personal Right-Skilling And Corporate Right-Skilling
Although the terms sound similar, Personal Right-Skilling and Corporate Right-Skilling are not the same.
Corporate Right-Skilling starts with the organisation.
The goal is to help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives by ensuring that employees develop the knowledge and skills the organisation needs.
The central question is:
“What skills does our organisation need?”
Personal Right-Skilling starts with the individual.
The goal is to help you develop the right hard skills, soft skills, knowledge and practical experience to secure your future and continue earning a sufficient income.
The central question is:
“What do I need to learn next?”
Sometimes the interests of the organisation and the individual are the same.
Sometimes they are not.
That is why I always use the term Personal Right-Skilling, including in the header of my profile on LinkedIn.
It reminds you that lifelong learning should first help you build your future, the future of your work and sufficient income —not the future of your current or future employer.
