AI-generated vs. AI-assisted content – A Comparison between the two
Artificial intelligence is being used in a variety of ways to create different types of digital content including digital products. Some AI systems are capable of generating content entirely on their own, while others are designed to assist humans in the content creation process. In this blog post, we will compare AI-generated and AI-assisted content and will provide practical examples and tips.
What is AI-generated content?
AI-generated content is content that is created entirely (100%) by an AI system. This means that the AI system is responsible for all aspects in every stage of the content creation process, including ideation, writing, and editing. AI-generated content can be used for a variety of purposes, including news articles, blog posts, social media posts, and even novels.
Personally, I do not publish any 100% AI-generated content myself. Why? Because I want to create value for you as my customer. By providing relevant personal knowledge and experiences.

What is AI-assisted content?
AI-assisted content is content that is created with the help of, ‘assisted by’, an AI system. This means that the AI system is used to supplement the work of you as a human content creator to be more productive. For example, an AI system could be used to do research, generate ideas, structure or rewrite (I tend to make very long sentences…), summarise or help with the editing process.
A very important feature of AI-assisted content creation is generating a quick first translation of a text, blog or (chapter of ) a book you have written yourself already. In my case, I do that for instance with the hundreds of pages of my previous bestselling management books in Dutch and of which I have the author rights again and the hundreds of articles, blogs, short ebooks & low content books I have written in Dutch or English since 2001 working at home, working remotely online and as digital nomad:
Which option is right for you?
The best option for you will depend on your specific needs and requirements. I personally focus on using AI-tools in three different ways: 1) making a translation of content written 100% by me, 2) AI-assisted writing for myself and for customers & 3) generating AI-images.
Conclusion
AI-tools like ChatGPT, Google Bard, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and Dall-E versions or AI-powered tools based on their APIs can be used to create content in a variety of ways for you personally and for customers. The best option for you will depend on your specific needs and requirements and above all, of your customers and prospects in you new AI-powered business model.
