What is the online gig economy?
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide in 2020 and even more after the democratization of AI in 2022, the Online Gig Economy has grown enormously and is still expected to keep on growing. What exactly is the Online Gig Economy?
In the online gig economy, instead of a regular wage, independent entrepreneurs get paid for each “online gig” they do, such as building websites, designing logos, writing blogs and repairing websites.
The online platform economy like Uber and Airbnb plays an important role in the online gig economy but for people making money at home and online freelancers, online platforms like Fiverr are as important.
Hybrid working, working at home and remote working anywhere and anytime as manager or employee:
I personally started to make money online at home with online gigs including writing on-demand ebooks as side-hustle from 2000 onwards on Internet Marketing, Working At Home, Making Money Online & Online Freelancing remotely and as digital nomad across Europe.

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the financial crisis after the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2021, and The Great AI Layoff after ChatGPT was launched online in English, many SMEs and solopreneurs worldwide were hit hard. I also had to drastically review my revenue streams and costs again and turn my old business model into a new AI-powered business model and my new digital strategy.
I managed to do that by using new AI-powered tools and frameworks like the AI-Model Canvas and the AI-transformation canvas instead of the old Business Model Canvas (BMC) and ‘Lean Startup’.
But I first had to learn new relevant skills and fast: ‘right-skilling for AI’. I did that by purchasing and following different types of e-learning in the booming online e-learning market and especially tutorials, different types of short ebooks and other digital products as self-study materials.
